Many customers may get confused about our classification of the basics. What is the difference between our washable pillows and duvets, and the silk-covered and cotton-covered basics?
Firstly, let's talk about the difference between silk-covered and cotton-covered basics. The main distinction lies in the shell material used for each. The cotton-covered basics have a shell made of high-quality royal cotton, while the silk-covered basics have a shell made of long strands of 100% 19-momme natural mulberry silk. It's important to note that both the cotton-covered and silk-covered basics cannot be machine washed, as they are filled with pure and natural long strand silk floss.
Our washable basics are designed to be machine washable. They have a shell made of 100% natural and breathable cotton, and feature two layers of filling: silk liner and polyester inner filling. Additionally, the cotton shell of washable basics has multiple boxes to secure the filling in place during machine wash. This is a feature that is not present in the silk-covered or cotton-covered basics.
